The Girl Scout Silver Award

The Silver Award is the Highest Award a Cadette Girl Scout can earn. At the Silver Award level, girls work individually or in a Project Team of up to four girls to develop and implement a sustainable solution to an issue they care about. Silver Award recipients have distinguished themselves as growing change-makers who take the lead in sharing ideas and working with experts and volunteers who can assist with their project, all with the support of their leader.

Cara Woodard is a Girl Scout Cadette in Troop 118159, of Girls Scouts San Jacinto Council where she has been a member since Kindergarten. She is a musician that has experienced the power of performing on a regular basis. Violin is her primary instrument; she started at the age of 6 years old. Cara has played for the past two years in the Kingdom Symphony Orchestra in Houston, Texas and currently plays with Soleil Music and Arts Chamber Group in Cypress, Texas. Cara also plays the drums and performs with a performance group and the House Band at the School of Rock Summer Creek in Houston, Texas. She is also a volunteer musician for Wild Tunes by Yuvi at Harris County BARC animal shelter. Cara is a 7th grader at Wharton Dual Language Academy in Houston, Texas.
